But then why doesnt the oxford or the cambridge or the marriam webster have the word 'social' in their definitions??
In a world of increasing socialization, it is becoming a mandate that one is socially networked using any of the infinite web 2 tech apps.
Nowadays holding an email account is like having a name.
Good that we can choose usernames of our choice, imgine what Pichaimuthu or Muthukaruppan and the likes will feel when they have to hold that in their mail account... what would happen to welegedra?

This also allows us to choose an alibi, this week I can call myself as deepak, next week DeeGan, next week DpK, Deep, DBugs, Bugs, DeeBUG etc.. I can hardly imagine how could anyone have gotaway with an alias from our parents a decade ago

Have I used all the feautures it offers? How would I know...

Then what is Twitter supposed to be If I can already update my status at Orkut??
Now what about facebook.. I am no longer cool eh? Guess the global warming is fast heating up things... If you wanna be socially active I hearld a future of everchanging/opening accounts...

A tiring exercise that defies the definition of human, but come what may I still am socially active..donno if its worth the exercise

I know right? I have been thinking on the same lines too.. I watched a special tech feature called "Twitter Crazy" on CNN-IBN tonight and it got me thinking.
"Social NOTworking" ... absolutely .. where's the utility. Not that it's not useful for sharing and collecting opinions/ feedback etc. but are we really using these networks for that.
It's the same thing with TV. When TV was first launched it was seen as a medium of broadcasting, delivering news and bringing people closer. And what it is now - idiot box! Mostly a piece of tech to while your time. With the rise in addiction to social networking we are treading the same path again. Not that I can do anything about it but as I am, I'll always whine about it.
