It was mid-october and people were getting really miserable with dried chapthis and papad like pooris.
With absolutely zilch vegetables except Aloo which is skyrocketing nearly 50/kilo...donno whats happening this month at other messes.
Now, I consider myself lucky for getting SHORTLISTED in Ganga mess...atleast there is a scope to get in where I wished to. As curious always, I had this nagging sensation to know how one gets allotted a mess...and my friend tried hard enough to explain the algorithm (algorithm to allot mess, no wonder ppl at IITs complicate things!!)to me and as my skull proved its mettle!, nothing seeped in.
Okay, lets call that some PROCESS..hmm, though not transparent enough, but I was LUCKY I got through Ganga...GANGA ROCKS!! But of'late some of my friends are a little irated when people speak of process, transparency or shortlisted or getting what one wants...
Ahem..Sometimes we even hold meetings to decide what one wants, Yes, that surely is a positive step. But what about people who want desperately to get into GANGA?? They apply for Ganga, they get it and then they don't like it???
And also understand that, if you are applying for Ganga, you are infact preventing the opportunity that a prospective ganga lover really seeks.
And do all people who get into Ganga can convert it to PPO? (Post Pongal Offer) For people who do not understand Post Pongal Offer...it is getting into the same mess the next month, probbly permanently....This is when my friend demystified me... "Dei, Dubukku, just becoZ you have got into GANGA mess it does not mean you will get Post Pongal Offer..."
So guys applying for Ganga or RR or CR please be responsible...Please spend sometime to understand whether you like North Indian, South Indian or mixed? If its TAMBRAM like food..... please head to Ganga!!!
I know I am not in CW (Clearly Wise state) or CC (Conspicuously Clear)...but still I want to be helpful enough to PLACE ppl where they are desirous to get in...
And guys who have got into Ganga, Congrats..Enjoy your Adai, Avial and Saambar and hope you all get PPOs.. (But please dont cheat people by saying you have just got PPIs..Post Pongal and Idlys..when you infact get PPOs...)
